Youth Week 2026 offers a vibrant series of events designed to engage young people in creative, adventurous, and educational activities. From building sustainable futures with Lego to exciting outdoor quests and creative cartooning workshops, there is something for every young person to enjoy.
These events are perfect for school-aged children and young adults, providing opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, and have fun in a supportive environment. Light refreshments are provided at many activities, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
Parents can expect well-organised, safe, and inclusive events that encourage creativity, teamwork, and exploration.
- Building the Future: Wednesday 8 April 2026, 18:00 - 19:30 at City of Vincent Library, 99 Loftus St, Leederville. A Lego Club for 18-25 year olds led by writer and science communicator Cristy Burne.
- Adventure Quest: Saturday 11 April 2026, 10:00 - 12:00 at Community Centre, 99 Loftus St, Leederville. Teams navigate local hotspots using a Mobile Adventures App GPS to complete challenges.
- Cartooning with Gav: Tuesday 14 April 2026, 10:00 - 11:30 at Community Centre, 99 Loftus St, Leederville. Workshop for ages 10-14 with New York Times bestselling cartoonist Gavin Aung Than.
- Eat the Library: Thursday 16 April 2026, 10:30 - 12:00 at City of Vincent Library, 99 Loftus St, Leederville. Make and eat kawaii snacks inspired by books.
- Mini Rocket Car Workshop: Thursday 16 April 2026, 13:00 - 15:00 at Mt Hawthorn Main Hall, 197 Scarborough Beach Rd, Mt Hawthorn. Science workshop for ages 8-12 building mini rocket cars.
- Short Film Screening: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 - 13:00 at Local History Centre, City of Vincent Library, 99 Loftus St, Leederville. View nostalgic footage celebrating Youth Week.
