What to Expect
Get ready for an unforgettable day cycling through a stunning sea of sunflowers in the Scenic Rim. This event offers a rare chance to ride amidst vibrant blooms, perfect for capturing beautiful photos and creating lasting memories with family and friends.
After the sunflower ride, enjoy a scenic 15km journey through adjoining farms and countryside roads with minimal elevation, suitable for gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and legal e-bikes. The day concludes back at the sunflower farm for the lively Sunflower Festival.
This event is ideal for parents looking for a fun, active outing with their children, combining outdoor exercise with a festive atmosphere.
Activity Details
The ride occurs over three separate days: Friday 1 May, Saturday 2 May, and Sunday 3 May 2026. Each day is identical, and participants may only book one day due to high demand. Each day is limited to 50 riders, with a maximum of 4 tickets per booking.
Arrival is required by 6:45 AM with registration opening at 6:15 AM. The ride starts promptly at 7:00 AM and lasts until approximately 3:00 PM.
The event includes:
- A ride through the sunflower fields
- A 15km ride on farm tracks and gravel/bitumen roads
- Guaranteed entry to the Sunflower Festival
Location and Access
The event is held at 56 Warumkarie Rd, Kalbar QLD 4309. Parking and registration are at a designated carpark near the sunflower farm. Full route details and meeting points will be provided to participants closer to the event date.
Kalbar is accessible by car, and the Scenic Rim region offers beautiful countryside views, making it a pleasant day trip for families.
Important Information
All participants must read and sign a waiver prior to the event; this is part of the registration process. If registering others, it is your responsibility to ensure they complete the waiver.
The ride is suitable for gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and legal e-bikes only; non-legal e-bikes are not permitted.
Refunds are available up to 14 days before the event. Additional donations to the Mater Foundation can be made through the booking platform.
Booking and Prices
Tickets cost $60 plus booking fees, which includes the ride, festival entry, and a donation to the Mater Foundation.
Bookings are essential due to limited spots. Tickets can be purchased for one of the three available dates only.
Additional festival experiences may be available for purchase once festival tickets go on sale early next year.
