What to Expect
Get ready for an exciting introduction to parkour designed especially for kids aged 5 to 12. This workshop is led by professional Parkour Athlete Harrison Gabriel and the In Motion Experience Team, focusing on basic skills like climbing, jumping, flipping, and kicking. It’s a fantastic way for children to channel their energy and develop physical confidence in a safe, supportive environment.
Kids will enjoy a fun, engaging session that encourages movement and creativity, perfect for those who love to be active and adventurous. The sessions are tailored to different age groups to ensure everyone gets the most out of the experience.
Activity Details
The event offers three sessions on Tuesday, 7 July 2026:
- Session 1: 13:00-13:45 for ages 5-7 years
- Session 2: 14:00-14:45 for ages 8-11 years
- Session 3: 15:00-15:45 for ages 12-18 years (tickets for this session available via Active Youth)
Each session is designed to teach beginner parkour skills with a focus on safety and fun. Parents should note that parkour involves four quadrant movement and may not be suitable for children with low mobility.
Location and Access
The sessions take place at Meadowbank Skate Park within Meadowbank Park, located at 102 Adelaide Street, Meadowbank 2114. Look for the Active in Ryde banner at the meeting point.
This venue is accessible, featuring smooth surfaces and pathways to viewing areas. It also has access to a disabled bathroom, making it welcoming for all families. The outdoor setting provides a vibrant atmosphere for children to explore parkour.
Important Information
Registrations are essential and must be made via Bookable, with places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents or guardians must be present on-site during the session. It is important to communicate any medical, physical, intellectual, social, or emotional considerations when registering to ensure appropriate support.
If you cannot attend, please cancel your booking promptly to allow others to participate. Failure to attend without cancellation may affect future bookings. The City of Ryde may photograph participants for promotional purposes.
Booking and Prices
The sessions are free for City of Ryde residents, while a $5 fee applies for non-residents. Proof of residency may be requested. Walk-ins are accepted if space permits, but booking ahead is recommended to secure a spot.
Tickets can be managed through the Bookable platform, where cancellations should also be made if necessary. This helps keep the program accessible and fair for all families.
