Step into a relaxed and welcoming space designed for deep listening and reflection on reconciliation today. This event offers a unique opportunity to hear First Nations perspectives and lived experiences, fostering understanding and connection.
Participants will explore the significance of reconciliation and reflect on their own connection to place, land, and community. You will be gently invited to write your own authentic Acknowledgement, unpacking what Country means and why speaking from the heart matters.
This is a safe space to share with care and respect, where you can write your acknowledgement in any language, including your mother tongue, if you wish. No prior experience or knowledge is needed.
The yarning circle will be guided by Karen Smith, a much-loved Aboriginal Heritage Officer, in her final Reconciliation Week event before retirement. Light catering will be provided to make the evening comfortable and welcoming.
Everyone is welcome to join this inclusive event aimed at fostering community connection and understanding. Photos will be taken, but if you prefer not to be photographed, you can notify the coordinator.
