What to Expect
Discover the life-cycle of the resilient burra fish as you and your children learn about caring for Country and each other. The space features a giant burra model, sensory walls, and interactive play zones designed to engage children’s senses through touch, sight, and sound. Visitors can explore at their own pace or join free pop-up events that enrich the learning experience.
Activity Details
This permanent education space is open daily from 10:00 to 16:30. It is suitable for children and adults alike, with a focus on hands-on discovery and cultural education. Children under 16 must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult at all times. The experience is free with general entry to the Australian Museum.

Burra is located on Level 2 near the Billabong Waterhole within the Australian Museum at 1 William Street, Sydney NSW 2010. The museum is accessible by public transport and offers family-friendly facilities including a café on Level 2. The museum is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00, except on Christmas Day when it is closed.
