Be moved by new and familiar faces in this year’s Archibald Prize – the country’s favourite and most significant art award for portraiture, running since 1921. This exhibition showcases a vibrant collection of portraits, alongside the Wynne Prize for landscape painting and figure sculpture, and the Sulman Prize for subject painting, genre painting, or mural projects. It’s a celebration of Australian art that appeals to all ages and interests.
Visitors can explore a diverse range of artworks from established and emerging artists. Highlights include the chance to vote for your favourite portrait in the ANZ People’s Choice award and to see the creative works of young artists aged 5–18 in the Young Archies display. The exhibition runs from Saturday 9 May to Sunday 16 August 2026. Opening hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays to Sundays from 10:00 to 17:00, with extended hours on Wednesdays until 22:00.
