Art Engage offers a warm and welcoming environment where individuals living with dementia and their carers can come together to explore creativity and meaningful conversation. This unique program is designed to inspire joy and personal expression through art.
Each session is led by trained gallery educators who facilitate thoughtful discussions about artworks, helping participants connect with memories and emotions. Alongside conversation, participants engage in hands-on artmaking activities such as painting, sculpting, and drawing, which provide therapeutic benefits and empower self-expression.
The program also fosters a supportive community, encouraging connections among participants and carers, creating a space of empathy and understanding.
Art Engage runs on the last Monday of every month, providing a consistent opportunity for engagement and creative exploration. Sessions last for two hours, from 10:00 to 12:00, and are free to attend.
The program is specifically tailored to meet the needs of people living with dementia, ensuring accessibility and comfort throughout the experience. Expert gallery educators skilled in dementia engagement lead each session, ensuring a supportive and enriching environment.
