Discover the art of coffee making and hospitality service in this engaging two-day workshop designed specifically for young people aged 15 to 24 who live, socialise, work, or study in Mitchell Shire. Hosted by Mitchell Youth Services in partnership with PRACE, this free program offers hands-on experience in a mock café environment, perfect for those interested in developing new skills and exploring employment opportunities.
Participants will dive into the basics of coffee making, learning essential barista techniques and customer service skills. The workshop provides a practical, interactive setting where you can practice in a simulated café environment, gaining confidence and real-world experience. Beyond coffee skills, you'll have the chance to connect with local employment and training opportunities, helping you take the next step towards your career.
This workshop runs over two consecutive days, and attendance at both sessions is mandatory to complete the program. Each day starts at 10:30 and finishes at 14:30, with a 45-minute break for lunch (please bring your own lunch or explore local options). Snacks will be provided during the sessions. Participants must wear close-toed shoes for safety. Registration is essential and closes at midday on Friday, 26 June 2026.

This is a Victorian Government initiative supported by Mitchell Shire Council and delivered as part of the Engage! program, which supports youth in skill development and community engagement. The workshop is free of charge. Please note the requirement for close-toed shoes and the necessity to attend both days. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
