Calling all young nature lovers! This engaging bird watching walk along the beautiful Werribee River offers a perfect opportunity for children aged 5-10 to connect with local wildlife. Using binoculars, kids will learn how to identify different bird species and enjoy ticking off sightings from a bird watching checklist. The river environment is bustling with activity, promising surprises at every turn.
The walk covers up to 1.5km on a shared, wheelchair-accessible path, making it suitable for families with varying mobility needs. Children must be accompanied by an adult to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Participants should bring essentials such as a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen to stay comfortable during the outing.
Meet at Bungies Hole, located behind the Werribee Bowls Club in Werribee, VIC. This accessible location provides easy entry to the riverbank and surrounding natural habitats. The walk is designed to be family-friendly and inclusive, encouraging everyone to explore and appreciate the local environment.
This event is ideal for primary school-aged children and their families. It is free of charge and runs during the school holidays, providing a fun and educational outdoor activity. Please ensure children are supervised at all times and come prepared for the weather conditions.
