What to Expect
Join artist in residence Tahlia Henderson for a delightful and free drop-in session that invites families to explore the art of collage inspired by the vibrant birdlife and natural beauty of Carss Park. This engaging workshop encourages children to create their own unique collage artwork to take home, fostering creativity and a deeper appreciation for local wildlife.
Each family will receive a specially designed bird-watching booklet crafted by Tahlia, which complements your visit by helping you identify featured birds and enjoy self-guided games and activities throughout the park. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to connect with nature and art in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Activity Details
This event is designed for families with children aged 10 years and under, with parents or guardians required to remain on site for the duration. The session runs for one hour, providing ample time for creative expression and exploration.
The workshop is fully supervised by qualified staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Please note that bookings are essential and the event is currently sold out; however, a waiting list is available for those interested.
Location and Access
The meeting point is at the Carss Park Life Saving Hall, located at 103 Carwar Avenue, Carss Park. This accessible venue is nestled within the natural surroundings of Carss Park, offering a scenic backdrop for the workshop.
Families are encouraged to use the bird-watching booklet to explore the park’s ecosystem and enjoy interactive activities that highlight the local bird species. The venue and program are committed to inclusivity, with assistance available upon request.
Important Information
Parents or guardians must be aged 16 years or over and remain on-site with children aged 10 and under throughout the session. Each booking covers one child plus their carer(s).
There are no refunds for cancellations or missed bookings, and program swapping is not permitted. Participation is at the participant’s own risk, with all reasonable precautions taken by the organisers.
