Step up your blacksmithing game in this hands-on advanced workshop led by Terry Drennan, a multiple Australian champion. This session is perfect for those who have completed the beginner workshop and want to master riveting, forge welding, barley twisting, and more. You'll create a set of fireside tools including a poker, rake, and shovel, gaining skills that open doors to further specialized workshops.
The workshop is designed for participants aged 16 and over, with a focus on safety and skill development in a custom-built blacksmithing shop. Spectators are welcome, making it a great outing for families interested in traditional crafts.
This full-day workshop runs from 08:30 to 16:00, providing ample time to learn and practice advanced blacksmithing techniques. Terry Drennan brings over 20 years of teaching experience and champion-level expertise to guide you through the process. Participants must wear closed-in boots or steel-capped shoes, long pants, and long sleeves for safety.
The workshop has limited spaces to ensure personalized instruction and support. After completing this course, you become eligible for more advanced projects such as boot scrapers, hand axes, Damascus knives, and candelabra making.
