Bop 2 Books is a delightful weekly program designed especially for toddlers aged 24 to 36 months. It offers a fun and engaging environment where young children and their parents or carers can enjoy rhymes, music, and stories together. This is a wonderful opportunity to nurture early literacy and social skills in a warm community setting.
Each session is lively and interactive, encouraging little ones to participate and develop a love for books and music. Parents can expect a relaxed atmosphere where their children can explore sounds, rhythms, and storytelling in a way that captivates their imagination.
The program is perfect for busy parents looking for a regular, enriching activity that supports their child's early development and provides a chance to connect with other families.
The sessions run every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM, except for the first Wednesday of each month when a different event, Spark in the Park, is held. The program does not operate during school holidays, ensuring it fits well with family schedules.
Bookings are essential and open one week in advance. Due to limited space, only one session per child per week is allowed across library branches. Late arrivals cannot be admitted to maintain the smooth running of the event.
The event is free, but places fill quickly, so early booking is recommended. Parents are asked to leave prams at home due to space constraints.
The program takes place at Lionel Bowen Library, located at 669-673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra. The library is a welcoming community hub with accessible facilities.
Randwick City Library is committed to inclusivity and accessibility. If you have any specific access requirements, you can contact the library team in advance to ensure your needs are met.
The venue is easy to reach by public transport and offers a safe, child-friendly environment for families to enjoy this enriching activity.
Please note the program will not run on certain dates throughout the year, including specific Wednesdays and school holidays. It is important to check the schedule when booking.
Only children with a valid booking and their siblings may attend, and all children must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times.
The library reserves the right to cancel tickets or refuse latecomers to ensure safety and enjoyment for all participants. Attendees may be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes unless they notify staff otherwise.
Attendance is free, but bookings are essential and made via Eventbrite. Bookings open one week before each session and close when full.
If you cannot attend, please cancel your booking promptly to allow others to participate.
Membership to Randwick City Library is required but free and can be completed online or at any branch.
