What to Expect

If you love word games and friendly competition, the Scrabble Club is the perfect weekly outing for you and your family. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, this club welcomes all players to enjoy a fun and engaging Scrabble experience. All equipment is provided, so just bring your enthusiasm and love for words.

The club fosters a warm and inclusive environment where players can sharpen their vocabulary and strategic thinking while socializing with fellow Scrabble enthusiasts. It’s a great way to spend a Thursday afternoon stimulating the mind and making new friends.

Activity Details

The Scrabble Club meets every Thursday from 1pm to 3pm, starting on 8 January 2026 and running until 9 July 2026. Please note there will be no sessions on 12 February and 5 March. Bookings are essential and open from 11 December 2025 at 9:30am. You only need to register once per year to join.

Participants must be library members, which is free and easy to sign up for online or at any branch. To ensure a smooth experience, latecomers will not be admitted after the start time, so please arrive 10 minutes early. Missing three or more consecutive weeks without notification may result in forfeiting your booking.

The sessions are held at Lionel Bowen Library, located at 669-673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra. The venue is committed to accessibility and inclusivity, so if you have any special access requirements, the staff are happy to assist. You can contact them via email or phone to discuss your needs.

Your attendance may be recorded through photos or videos for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be included, please inform the staff before the event begins. Remember to cancel your booking if you can no longer attend to allow others the opportunity to participate.

Booking and Prices

The Scrabble Club is free to attend, but bookings are essential due to limited spaces. Registration opens on 11 December 2025 at 9:30am and is done online via Eventbrite. You only need to register once per year.
