Under the guidance of Mark Grunden, a renowned percussionist from Bad Boys Batucada and Tumbarumba, you will explore powerful rhythms like samba and samba reggae. Traditional Brazilian instruments are provided, and occasional vocals add a spicy touch to the sessions.

Activity Details
Classes run every Thursday during school terms from 19:00 to 21:00. The 2026 term dates are:
- Term 1: 2026-02-05 to 2026-04-02
- Term 2: 2026-04-23 to 2026-06-25
- Term 3: 2026-07-16 to 2026-09-17
- Term 4: 2026-10-08 to 2026-12-17
You can attend any session without a strict course structure, allowing flexibility to join when it suits you. Each session includes learning basics of instruments and rhythms, progressing to full songs.
Costs are $10 for the first class, then $20 per session or $15 concession. There is also a membership option to buy 5 classes upfront with a free session included.
Location and Access
The classes take place at 49 Nicholson Street, Brunswick East, in a hall located underneath the church. This central location is easily accessible by public transport.
You can reach the venue via Tram Number 96 (Stop Number 20) or Bus Numbers 250, 251 (Holden St), and 504 (Park St). Parking and local amenities are nearby, making it convenient for families.
Important Information
Instruments are provided, so just bring ear plugs, drinks, and snacks for your comfort. The sessions are inclusive and encourage a supportive and fun atmosphere.
