Experience a captivating evening where literature and science meet under the stars. Award-winning writer Bruce Pascoe and astrophysicist Ray Norris share insights from their book "Big Sky: When the Emu Left the Earth," blending Indigenous knowledge with astronomy.
The event features a lively discussion hosted by ABC Radio National’s Natasha Mitchell, followed by a mesmerizing virtual tour of the night sky led by Dr Tanya Hill inside the Planetarium theatre.

The evening begins at 6:30pm with doors opening, followed by the main discussion from 7pm to 8pm. At 8:15pm, Dr Tanya Hill guides attendees through "What’s In the Sky Tonight," concluding by 9pm.
Speakers include Bruce Pascoe, known for his award-winning literature and deep cultural knowledge; Professor Ray Norris, an expert in astrophysics and Indigenous astronomy; and Dr Tanya Hill, senior curator of astronomy at Melbourne Planetarium.
Hosted at Scienceworks’ Planetarium, the event is presented in partnership with Melbourne Writers Festival and Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre, ensuring a rich cultural and educational experience.
