Step into a world of imagination and fun with Budding Bookworms, a delightful event designed especially for preschool-aged children (3-5 years). This engaging activity features magical stories, lively sing-alongs, rhymes, wiggly dances, and creative crafts that will captivate your little ones.
Held in the beautiful surroundings near the Garden's Japanese Tea House, this event promises smiles and joyful moments for both children and their families. It’s a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys of reading and music in a natural setting.
The event runs on Fridays starting at 10:00 AM and lasts for approximately 45 minutes. It is presented by dedicated Garden volunteers in partnership with Wollongong City Libraries, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
No bookings are required, making it easy for families to drop in and enjoy the fun. In case of bad weather, activities may be moved to the Towri Centre deck or cancelled, with updates posted on the Wollongong Botanic Garden Facebook page.
Budding Bookworms takes place at Wollongong Botanic Garden, located at 40 Murphys Avenue, Keiraville. The event is held near the Japanese Tea House, west of the Rose Garden, a scenic and peaceful spot perfect for young children.
The Garden is open daily from 7 AM to 5 PM, with free entry and accessible facilities. Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for families.
This event is free of charge and suitable for families with children aged 3 to 5 years. Parents are encouraged to stay and participate with their children to enhance the experience.
