Step into a world of imagination and fun with your little ones at Budding Bookworms. This delightful event is designed especially for preschool-aged children (3-5 years) and promises engaging stories, lively sing-alongs, rhymes, wiggly dances, and creative crafts. It's a perfect way to spark your child's love for books and music while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Wollongong Botanic Garden.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with activities led by passionate Garden volunteers in partnership with Wollongong City Libraries. Whether your child loves to listen, move, or create, there’s something here to delight every young learner.

This event runs for 45 minutes, providing a perfect morning outing that balances fun and learning.
Budding Bookworms takes place near the Garden's Japanese Tea House, located west of the Rose Garden within Wollongong Botanic Garden. The garden is easily accessible and offers a peaceful natural setting for families to enjoy.
The Botanic Garden is open daily from 7am to 5pm, with free entry and ample parking. It’s a wonderful spot to explore before or after the event, with plenty of space for children to run and discover nature.
This is a free event presented by Garden volunteers alongside Wollongong City Libraries. Bookings are not required, making it easy to drop in and join the fun.
In case of bad weather, cancellations will be posted on the Wollongong Botanic Garden Facebook page, so be sure to check before you arrive.
