Step into a world of imagination with your little ones at Budding Bookworms, a delightful weekly event designed especially for preschool-aged children. Expect engaging stories, lively sing-alongs, rhymes, and wiggly dances that will have your child smiling from ear to ear. The activities are thoughtfully crafted to inspire creativity and foster a love of books and music.
This event also includes fun craft sessions that allow children to express themselves and take home a little piece of the magic. It’s a wonderful way for families to connect, learn, and play together in a beautiful garden setting.
The event runs every Friday starting at 10:00 AM near the Garden's Japanese Tea House, located west of the Rose Garden. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes, making it a perfect morning outing that fits easily into your weekly routine. The activities are led by dedicated Garden volunteers in partnership with Wollongong City Libraries, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
No bookings are required, so you can drop in spontaneously to enjoy the fun. In case of bad weather, cancellations will be posted on the Wollongong Botanic Garden Facebook page, so be sure to check before you come.
The event takes place at Wollongong Botanic Garden, 40 Murphys Avenue, Keiraville. The garden is open daily from 7 AM to 5 PM, providing ample time to explore the beautiful surroundings before or after the event.
The Japanese Tea House area is easily accessible and offers a serene environment for families to relax and enjoy nature. Parking is available nearby, and the garden is family-friendly with facilities to accommodate young children.
This activity is free of charge and suitable for families with children aged 3 to 5 years. It’s a fantastic opportunity to introduce your preschooler to the joys of reading and music in a supportive community setting.
