What to Expect
Dive into a rewarding community event that combines fun fishing with environmental care. The Carp to Croc Fishing Competition invites fishers of all ages and skill levels to target European carp, one of Australia's most destructive invasive species. This is a fantastic opportunity for families to engage with nature and contribute to improving local river health.
Throughout the competition, participants will use the Fish Donkey app to record their catches, making it easy and interactive to track progress. Carp caught can be responsibly dropped off at BCF Tuggerah, where they will be used as food for crocodiles and alligators at the Australian Reptile Park, ensuring your catch supports local wildlife.
This event not only promotes outdoor activity but also raises awareness about the impact of invasive species on freshwater ecosystems. It’s a perfect way to spend quality time outdoors while teaching children about environmental stewardship.
