What to Expect
Dive into an exciting community event aimed at protecting local waterways from invasive carp. This launch offers a fantastic opportunity for families to learn about fishing techniques and freshwater ecosystem conservation through interactive demonstrations and talks.
Enjoy hands-on experiences including fishing, electrofishing, and rod-rigging demonstrations. Meet roving reptiles from the Australian Reptile Park and hear from experts representing OzFish, BCF, Central Coast Council, DPI, and WaterNSW.

Activity Details
The launch event is free and runs from 10:00 to 13:00 on Saturday, 28 March 2026. No registration is required, so families can drop in at their convenience.
Following the launch, the Carp to Croc muster runs from 28 March to 26 April 2026, encouraging participants to catch carp in local waterways and log their catches via the Fish Donkey app.
Caught carp can be dropped off at BCF Tuggerah, where they will be frozen and sent to the Australian Reptile Park to be used as crocodile food, turning an environmental problem into a resource.
Location and Access
The event takes place at Wyong Milk Factory, located at 141 Alison Road, Wyong NSW 2259.
Parking at the venue is limited, but additional street parking is available nearby. The location is accessible and family-friendly, making it easy to bring children along for a day of learning and fun.

Carp are a destructive invasive species that harm freshwater ecosystems by degrading water quality and displacing native fish. This event and competition aim to empower the community to help protect local waterways.
