Experience a calming and restorative chair yoga session designed especially for those seeking gentle movement and mindfulness. Led by a qualified Chair Yoga and Meditation teacher, these classes focus on slowing down the mind and body through breathing exercises, gentle seated stretches, and guided meditation. Each session is thoughtfully paced to accommodate all fitness levels, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and supported. This is an ideal opportunity to nurture your wellbeing in a welcoming community environment.
The sessions run once a month on Tuesdays from 11:30 to 12:30, offering a consistent and easy-to-remember schedule. You will be guided through breathing techniques that help calm the nervous system, followed by gentle stretches performed while seated, making it accessible for all ages and abilities.
The guided meditation at the end of the class leaves you feeling peaceful and relaxed, helping to reduce anxiety and improve mental clarity. No prior yoga experience is necessary, and all equipment is provided.
Classes take place at Coburg Library, located at the corner of Victoria and Louisa Street, Coburg. The venue is easily accessible by public transport, with the North Coburg tram route no. 19 stopping nearby at stop 33, and the Upfield train line with Coburg Station close by.
Coburg Library offers a quiet, comfortable space ideal for relaxation and mindfulness activities. There is ample parking nearby and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for gentle movement. It is recommended to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during the session. Arrive a few minutes early to settle in and prepare for the class.
These sessions are suitable for adults of all fitness levels, including beginners and those with limited mobility. If you have any health concerns, please consult your healthcare provider before attending.

The Chair Yoga sessions are free to attend but require registration to secure your spot. You can register through Merri-bek Libraries or by contacting them directly via phone or email.
