What to Expect
Dive into a hands-on workshop designed for mending enthusiasts and community repair volunteers of all skill levels. You'll have access to a variety of textiles including student remnants, industry swatches, and post-consumer fabrics to cut and press for patching. Additionally, yarn offcuts will be available for weaving and rolling onto cards for darning.
This is a wonderful opportunity to exchange knowledge about mending tools, materials, and clever hacks. Everyone is encouraged to share their experiences and learn from others in a friendly, supportive environment.
Whether you're a seasoned mender or just curious, this workshop will inspire you to extend the life of your garments and reduce textile waste.
Activity Details
The workshop runs for two hours and is part of the RMIT x Merri-Bek City Council Circular Campus to Community Project. This initiative focuses on circularity in textiles through streams such as Regenerate, Repair, Recycle, Redesign, and Rethink.
