Immerse yourself in nature and make a positive environmental impact by volunteering at Clovelly Bay Bushcare. This program offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community while helping to restore and protect native coastal heathland.
You will work alongside Council's experienced Bushcare Officers who provide guidance and support throughout the activities. The site is beautifully located on the northern side of Clovelly Bay, offering a peaceful and scenic environment.
This is a perfect activity for parents looking to engage in meaningful outdoor work that benefits the environment and fosters community spirit.
The bushcare sessions occur monthly on the 4th Friday, running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Volunteers will participate in bush regeneration tasks such as planting native species, removing weeds, and maintaining the natural habitat.
No prior experience is necessary, and all tools and safety equipment are provided. It’s a hands-on way to learn about local ecology and conservation practices.
Sessions are ongoing until November 27, 2026, providing plenty of opportunities to get involved regularly or occasionally.
The meeting point is at the designated car parking spaces opposite 18 Eastbourne Ave, Clovelly. This location is easily accessible by car and public transport.
Clovelly Bay’s northern side offers a serene setting surrounded by native coastal heath, making it an ideal spot for outdoor environmental activities.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear and bring water, sun protection, and gloves if preferred.
Volunteering requires a reasonable level of physical activity, including bending, digging, and walking on uneven terrain. It is suitable for adults and older children accompanied by parents.
Please notify the Bushcare Officer if you have any medical conditions or mobility concerns prior to attending.
Bookings are essential to ensure adequate supervision and equipment availability.
Participation is free of charge. To book your spot or for further information, please contact the Council's Bushcare Officer at 02 9093 6708 or email bushcare@randwick.nsw.gov.au.
Early booking is recommended as spaces may be limited.
Feel good about giving back to your local environment while enjoying fresh air and community connection.
