What to Expect

Through hands-on activities and crafts, children will meet compost worms, become macro invertebrate detectives, and create their own clay habitats and garden creatures to take home. This workshop is perfect for curious young minds eager to learn about sustainability and caring for the environment.
Activity Details
The workshop covers why worm farms are fun and beneficial, how to maintain a compost habitat, and introduces children to the garden’s helpful bugs and critters. Participants will also design a personalized Compost Recipe sign to encourage composting at home.
Please ensure children wear closed-in shoes, hats, and sunscreen for comfort and safety. Parents are required to stay on-site for the duration of the workshop to support their children’s learning experience.

Held at Kimbriki Eco House and Garden, located at 1 Kimbriki Road, Ingleside NSW 2101, the venue offers a peaceful garden setting perfect for families to connect with nature. Directions are available upon request, and the site is accessible for all ages.
Important Information
Parents should remain at the Eco House & Garden throughout the session. Bringing vegetable and fruit scraps such as banana skins and apple cores is encouraged to feed the Eco Garden worms, enhancing the hands-on experience.
The workshop runs for two hours, providing ample time for exploration and creativity. Please prepare your children with appropriate sun protection and footwear to ensure a safe and enjoyable day.
