Discover the captivating public art installation 'On the Foreshore' by Indigenous Australian artist Dennis Golding, brought to you by Bayside Council in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) and supported by NSW Ports. This free event offers a wonderful opportunity to engage with Indigenous culture and contemporary art in a beautiful foreshore setting.
The installation invites you to explore the rich cultural heritage of the area through the eyes of Dennis Golding. You can attend the opening celebration on Saturday 11 April 2026 from 14:00 to 16:00, featuring speeches by the Mayor of Bayside Council, the MCA Director, and the artist himself. Later, join a special Walk on Country on Saturday 9 May 2026 from 11:00 to 12:00 with Aunty Barbara Simms-Kelley and Dennis Golding for an intimate guided walk along Kamay Botany Bay.

The event is held at Ramsgate Carpark, Ramsgate Beach NSW 2217. Access the carpark via The Grand Parade near the intersection with Hollywood Street. The foreshore location offers a scenic backdrop perfect for families wanting to enjoy art and nature together.
This is a free public event open to everyone with no bookings required for the opening celebration. The Walk on Country offers a unique cultural experience suitable for school-aged children accompanied by parents. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring sun protection for the outdoor walk.
