A special Dino Doze silent hour from 09:00 to 10:00 daily provides a calm environment for children with sensory needs or anyone wanting to observe the dinosaurs quietly.
Activity Details
The event runs from Saturday, 18 April 2026, through to Sunday, 12 July 2026, during the winter school holidays. Entry to Dinos Lost Sanctuary is free with your Healesville Sanctuary admission. Thanks to the Victorian Government’s Kids Go Free program, children under 16 enter free on weekends, school holidays, and public holidays.
Visitors will see a variety of dinosaurs including Allosaurus, Apatosaurus (adult and baby), Brachiosaurus (full size and juvenile), Carnotaurus, Edmontonia, Citipati, Coelophysis A and B, Dilophosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, and Utahraptor.
Every visit supports Zoos Victoria’s vital conservation efforts to save 27 local threatened species from extinction.
Location and Access
The event is held at Healesville Sanctuary, located on Glen Eadie Avenue, Healesville, Victoria 3777. The sanctuary is set in natural bushland, providing an immersive experience among native trees and wildlife.
Healesville Sanctuary is accessible by car and public transport, with parking available on site. The paths are suitable for families with strollers, making it easy to explore with children.
Nearby amenities include a coffee station for parents to refresh while kids play and explore the Dino Egg Hatchery.
Important Information
The Dinos Lost Sanctuary is an outdoor event, so dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. The Dino Doze silent hour from 09:00 to 10:00 daily is designed for children with sensory sensitivities or those who prefer a quieter experience.
Children under 16 receive free entry on weekends, school holidays, and public holidays through the Kids Go Free program. Adults require standard admission to Healesville Sanctuary.
