What to Expect
Immerse your family in a creative and hands-on workshop where you can design and decorate your own picture frame. Inspired by Dharug artist Billy Bain's motifs of place, surf culture, and Indigenous storytelling, this workshop invites you to add personal imagery that tells your unique story.
Materials and templates are provided, making it easy for all ages and abilities to participate. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Activity Details
The workshop runs daily from 10:00 to 17:00 between 4 July and 19 July 2026, with extended hours until 21:00 on Wednesdays from 8 July to 5 August 2026. You can drop in at any time during these hours—no booking is required.
Billy Bain’s frame and motif templates guide your creative process, but you’re encouraged to personalize your frame with images of animals, objects, and places that reflect your story and where you live.
This event is part of the Hive Festival at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, supported by The Bayard Foundation.
