What to Expect
Eco Holidays: Be The Future offers an exciting opportunity for children to explore sustainability through interactive and educational workshops. Designed for kids aged 5 to 12, these sessions combine fun games and hands-on activities to inspire young minds about waste, recycling, and renewable energy.
Each workshop is packed with engaging challenges that encourage teamwork and creativity, making learning about the environment an adventure. Parents can relax knowing their children are entertained and educated in a safe, accessible venue.
Activity Details
On April 8th, children aged 5-12 will dive into the 'Talking Trash!' workshop, where they will play guessing games and complete five sugar cane missions, including growing sugar cane, making bioplastics, and exploring bioenergy.
On April 15th, kids aged 9-12 can participate in the 'Solar Car Race' workshop, building and racing their own solar-powered cars. A guardian must accompany each child to ensure safety and support.
Both workshops require booking due to limited spaces, and participants should bring a reusable water bottle, plastic-free snacks, closed-toed shoes, and sun or rain protection.
Location and Access
The events take place at the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, located at 2 Balls Head Drive, Waverton, NSW 2060. The venue is fully accessible to all physical abilities, making it easy for families to attend.
In case of wet weather, indoor activities will replace outdoor plans, ensuring the workshops proceed regardless of rain. The Coal Loader is well-equipped to provide a comfortable and engaging environment for children and their guardians.
Important Information
Booking is essential and spaces are limited, so please only reserve a spot if you can attend. If plans change, cancel your booking promptly to allow others to participate.
A guardian must accompany children during the workshops for supervision and support. Participants are encouraged to bring eco-friendly items such as reusable water bottles and plastic-free snacks to align with the sustainability theme.
Safety is a priority, so closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are required. The workshops are designed to be inclusive and accessible to all children.
