Volunteers will participate in a variety of activities aimed at protecting biodiversity, all while enjoying fresh air and community spirit. No prior experience is necessary as friendly support staff provide training, tools, and equipment.
Please come prepared with sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, long sleeves, a hat, and a water bottle to stay comfortable and safe throughout the session.
These events run monthly on Sundays from 09:00 to 11:00, offering a great morning activity for parents and children alike. The working bees are scheduled for:
- 05 April 2026
- 03 May 2026
- 07 June 2026
Each session provides an opportunity to learn about local flora and fauna while actively contributing to environmental conservation.
Meet at the Summoner Street entrance of EG Ritchie Memorial Flora Reserve, located at 36 Summoner Street, Blairgowrie, 3942. The reserve is a beautiful natural area perfect for families wanting to connect with nature.
The location is accessible by car and offers a safe environment for children to explore under supervision. Please plan your trip accordingly and arrive on time to maximize your experience.
Working bees may be cancelled or rescheduled at short notice due to Total Fire Ban days, extreme weather events, or public holidays. It is advisable to check for updates before attending.
Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing for outdoor work and bring their own water bottle to stay hydrated. The event is family-friendly but requires adult supervision for children.
This is a free community event supported by the Mornington Peninsula Shire and Nepean Conservation Group.
Participation is free of charge. While no formal booking is required, volunteers are encouraged to contact the organisers for any queries or to confirm attendance.
