Classes run weekly on Wednesdays from April 22 to July 1, 2026, between 10:30 and 12:00. The term includes 11 sessions in total.
The cost is $18.00 per term, and bookings are essential. Registration opens on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 9:30 AM online.
Participants must be aged 18 or above and from a background where English is not the first language. Priority is given to permanent residents of the Local Government Area if demand is high.
The classes take place at Lionel Bowen Library, located at 669-673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra.

Library membership is required to attend but is free and can be obtained online or at any branch.
Please note children are not allowed in the classroom for safety reasons.
If you cannot attend a session, notify your tutor or library staff to avoid cancellation of your ticket after two absences without notice.
Covid-safe measures and terms and conditions apply and may be updated with short notice.
Bookings must be made online through Eventbrite, with a fee of $18.00 per term.
Refunds are available for cancellations made at least one day before the first class, minus Eventbrite fees.
Only one class per person per term is allowed, with a maximum of two years enrolment per proficiency level.
Tickets are non-transferable and duplicate bookings will be cancelled.
