This project invites experienced artists to design and deliver nine large-scale murals that will transform the sports precinct into a welcoming and visually inspiring environment. It's a chance to showcase your creativity while celebrating local culture, sport, and nature.
What to Expect
Artists will be invited to submit Expressions of Interest to design murals on brick retaining walls and cricket net enclosures. The murals will reflect themes such as First Nations flora and fauna, sporting community, local environment, and family inspiration. This is a community-focused project aiming to enhance the precinct’s identity and encourage participation.
Activity Details
- Nine mural themes including First Nations artwork, sporting themes, local environment, cricket inspiration, family bonds, and signage complement.
- Open to NSW residents only.
- EOIs require a CV, examples of past work, a short written response, and indication of mural(s) applying for.
- Shortlisted artists will develop concept proposals.
- No detailed concepts required at EOI stage.
Location and Access
The murals will be located at Seymour Shaw Park Sporting Fields, corner of Wandella Road and The Boulevarde, Miranda. This accessible sports precinct is a hub for community activity and outdoor enjoyment, making it an ideal canvas for public art that celebrates local identity.
