This free kids boxing class is designed for school aged children who are curious, energetic and ready to learn new skills. It is a friendly, supervised space where your child can build confidence, coordination and fitness while having fun. Parents can expect a structured program that balances safety with active play.
What to Expect
Children will be introduced to basic boxing techniques in a play based way that keeps skill and safety front of mind. Coaches focus on balance, footwork, controlled strikes and respectful partner work so kids learn good habits while staying active.
Sessions are lively and inclusive, suitable for nervous beginners through to more confident movers. The program encourages teamwork and positive behaviour, helping children make new friends and develop social skills as they learn boxing and fitness skills.
Typical session elements include warm ups, skill drills using gloves and punch pads, partner activities and cool downs. Equipment will be provided and activities are adapted for ages 6 to 9 so all participants can enjoy a safe and engaging experience.
Activity Details
The program runs for 8 consecutive weeks on Tuesdays from 16:00 to 17:00, starting 2026-02-03 and finishing 2026-03-24. Each session is one hour and specifically tailored for children aged 6 to 9 years.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing, closed in shoes and bring a water bottle. Students will use gloves and punch pads and will be supervised by qualified coaches from Reclink Australia in partnership with Cumberland City Council.
Attendance is expected each week for the full 8 week program to ensure skill progression and safety. This is a great option for parents looking for a low cost, structured after school activity that builds fitness, coordination and confidence.
