What to Expect

Activity Details
The working bees run from 09:30 to 11:30 on selected Saturdays throughout 2026. Activities include planting, weeding, and general maintenance to support biodiversity. Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes for safety.
Please bring gardening gloves, your favourite gardening tool, a water bottle, a hat, and a travel cup or mug for your cuppa. The group provides morning tea and a welcoming atmosphere for socialising.
This is a family-friendly event, perfect for parents looking to engage their school-aged children in environmental stewardship and community involvement.
Location and Access
The working bees take place at Ainslie Park, located on Ainslie Park Avenue in Croydon, 3136. The park is accessible by car and public transport, with ample space for parking nearby.
Ainslie Park offers a beautiful natural setting with walking trails and green spaces, making it an ideal spot for community environmental activities. Maps and directions are available on the Maroondah City Council website.
Volunteers are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to prepare for the session and to ensure a prompt start.
Important Information
Safety is a priority; please wear appropriate clothing including long pants and closed-toe shoes. Gardening gloves are recommended to protect your hands.
