What to Expect
Dive into the exciting world of game development with this hands-on workshop where children will create their own platformer games from scratch. Using Blockly coding, participants will add platforms, obstacles, and enemies, unleashing their creativity while learning valuable coding skills.
This activity is designed for children aged 8 and above, making it a perfect introduction to programming and game design. The sessions encourage problem-solving and logical thinking in a fun and supportive environment.

Activity Details
The workshop runs over two sessions on Tuesdays, February 17 and February 24, 2026, from 16:00 to 17:30 each day. Each session includes a 10-minute arrival and 10-minute pack-up time within the duration.
Registration is required, with a limit of one registration per day for multi-session programs. Guardians of children under 12 must remain on-site throughout the program, and all guardians must be at least 16 years old.
The program facilitators maintain a respectful and positive environment, and any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Location and Access
The event takes place at lab.LX STEAM, located inside Bonnyrigg Library at 100 Bonnyrigg Avenue, Bonnyrigg NSW 2177. The venue is accessible and well-equipped for technology-based workshops.
Families are encouraged to become members of the Fairfield City Open Libraries for free, which supports access to this and other library programs.
