Step into a supportive and empowering environment designed exclusively for girls and women aged 12 to 24, including trans and femme identifying individuals. These boxing classes are led by professional coach Stephanie Mfongwot, who will guide you through energizing workouts that combine fitness and fun.
You'll engage in shadow boxing, bag work, and core workouts, alongside strength exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups, and burpees. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, all fitness levels are welcome.
Expect to leave each session feeling stronger, more confident, and uplifted, with plenty of laughs along the way.
Classes run weekly on Tuesdays during the school term, from 17 March 2026 onwards. Each session lasts one hour, starting at 17:30 and finishing at 18:30.
The program is free of charge, making it accessible for all participants. It’s a fantastic way to stay active, improve your fitness, and connect with others in a positive, female-focused space.
No special equipment is needed—just wear comfortable workout clothes and bring your enthusiasm!
Sessions take place at Oxygen Youth Space, located at 4 - 8 Gaffney Street, Coburg North.
Getting there is easy: the venue is a one-minute walk from the #37 tram stop at Gaffney Street/Sydney Road, and just a five-minute walk from Batman train station on the Upfield line.
This central location is convenient for families living in Merri-bek and surrounding areas.
The classes are inclusive and welcoming to all women, including trans and femme identifying individuals, aged 12 to 24 years.
All fitness levels are encouraged to participate, so no prior boxing experience is necessary.
Participants should wear suitable activewear and bring water to stay hydrated.
The sessions run during the school term on Tuesdays, so it’s a great after-school activity.
These boxing classes are completely free to attend.
No prior booking is required; just turn up ready to punch, skip, and sweat!
