Experience the vibrant celebration of Harmony Week at Canterbury-Bankstown Libraries and Knowledge Centres. This event embraces the theme 'Everyone Belongs' and offers a variety of engaging activities for families and children. From multicultural performances to story times and movie screenings, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Enjoy lively flamenco, belly dancing, Chinese dances, and henna tattooing across multiple library locations. Kids can participate in preschool story times with a multicultural twist, and families can savor multicultural afternoon tea featuring light refreshments from different cultures.
Wear orange to show your support for inclusiveness and respect, and immerse yourself in the rich cultural diversity of the community.
The week-long event runs from 16 to 22 March 2026, featuring scheduled activities at various library branches:
- Multicultural performances with dance and henna tattooing at Riverwood, Bankstown, Campsie, and Chester Hill Libraries on selected days.
- Movie screening of 'Strictly Ballroom' with refreshments at Padstow Library on 18 March.
- Preschool story time sessions encouraging multicultural dress or orange clothing at multiple branches.
- Multicultural afternoon tea at Earlwood Library on 16 March.
Activities are free, but some require bookings via phone. Times vary by location, generally between late morning and mid-afternoon.
Events take place across Canterbury-Bankstown Libraries and Knowledge Centres, including Riverwood, Bankstown, Campsie, Chester Hill, Padstow, Earlwood, and others. All venues are accessible and family-friendly, with facilities such as accessible toilets.
