Step into a creative workshop where you can reinvent your wardrobe by transforming everyday clothing and accessories into unique wearable art. Whether you bring a T-shirt, denim, tote bag, or any other item, you'll explore various artistic techniques to make it truly your own.
Led by Australian artist Rose Ashton, this workshop draws inspiration from iconic Australian fashion and design, including influences like Ksubi, Jenny Kee, and Ken Done. You’ll be encouraged to experiment freely, creating something that reflects your identity and style rather than following a set pattern.
No prior art or fashion experience is needed, making this a welcoming space for beginners and seasoned creatives alike. Bring one clean item to transform, and feel free to use additional donated materials available at the event.
This workshop runs for two hours in the evening, from 17:30 to 19:30 on Tuesday, 29 September 2026. It is part of Randwick City Council's Town Hall Takeover, a vibrant week-long youth program featuring music, digital media, and multidisciplinary arts.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities such as drawing, painting, pattern making, and other creative techniques to rework their clothing. The finished pieces can be kept, gifted, or donated to young people, fostering a sense of community and sustainability.
The session is paid and requires registration in advance to secure your spot. It offers a fantastic opportunity for parents and children to explore creativity together in a supportive environment.
