What to Expect
Discover a heartwarming and imaginative art experience that invites children to become art directors, transforming their parent's face into a living canvas. This interactive project celebrates the special bond between parent and child through creative portraiture and professional photography.
Children aged 6 to 12 will have the chance to choose props and design a unique portrait, capturing their perspective of their parent in a fun and memorable way. The resulting portraits are both hilarious and moving, offering a fresh look at family relationships.
This event culminates in a public exhibition showcasing the portraits, allowing families and the community to celebrate these creative expressions together.
Activity Details
The studio photography sessions run from 27 to 30 September 2026, with each 45-minute session designed for one child and one adult partner. During the session, children answer fun questions about their parent's personality, select key objects, and creatively place them on the adult's face to build their portrait.
Participants then collaborate with a professional photographer to direct the photoshoot, resulting in a unique and personal artwork. Tickets must be purchased in pairs, one for the child and one for the adult.
Following the sessions, a free exhibition runs from 2 to 11 October 2026, open to all ages. Additionally, a 'Make Your Own Photography' weekend on 10 and 11 October offers a hands-on opportunity for families to create their own portraits using provided materials.
