What to Expect
Returning to work after a break can feel overwhelming, but this free Job Shift workshop at Hurstville Library is here to support you. Whether you've taken time off for caregiving, illness, redundancy, retirement, or a career change, this event will help you take confident steps towards employment.
You'll learn practical strategies to overcome common challenges such as employment gaps, updating your resume, and refreshing your skills. The workshop also introduces you to valuable free library eResources like LinkedIn Learning to boost your job search.
This session is suitable for anyone aged 16 and over, with no previous experience necessary. All materials and equipment will be provided to ensure you have everything you need to succeed.
Activity Details
The workshop covers key areas including clarifying your career direction, refreshing your skills, updating your job application materials, and learning how to apply and network effectively. This comprehensive approach aims to build your confidence and prepare you for the next stage in your career.
The event is led by experienced facilitators who understand the challenges of returning to work and will guide you through each step. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized advice.
Please note that places are limited, so booking is essential. Arriving more than 10 minutes late may result in your spot being given to someone on the standby list.

Participants must be aged 16 years or older to attend. If you are unable to attend after booking, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event to allow others to take your place.
