What to Expect
The Junior Wheelies Winter Camp offers an exciting opportunity for children aged 6 to 18 to explore the world of wheelchair sports. This inclusive camp is designed to introduce kids to a variety of wheelchair sports in a supportive and fun environment. It’s a fantastic way for young participants to develop new skills, stay active, and make new friends.
Throughout the camp, children will have the chance to try their hand at several wheelchair sports including Wheelchair AFL, Wheelchair Boxing, Wheelchair Rugby, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Tennis, and even Laser Tag. There’s also a surprise event to keep the excitement alive!
This camp is perfect for parents looking for an engaging and active school holiday program that encourages physical activity and social connection for their children.
Activity Details
The camp runs over three days, from Friday afternoon through to early Sunday afternoon. Activities are structured to allow participants to rotate through different sports, ensuring a varied and dynamic experience.
Participants will receive coaching and guidance from experienced instructors who specialize in wheelchair sports. The camp is suitable for all skill levels, whether your child is new to wheelchair sports or has some experience.
Safety and inclusivity are top priorities, with all necessary equipment provided and adapted to suit individual needs.
Location and Access
The camp is held at the Sydney Academy of Sport, located on Wakehurst Parkway in Narrabeen NSW 2101. This venue is well-equipped with accessible facilities and ample space for the range of sports activities planned.
Narrabeen is easily accessible by car and public transport, with parking available on-site. The venue is designed to accommodate participants with mobility needs comfortably.
Parents are encouraged to drop off and pick up their children at the venue, where staff will be available to assist.
Important Information
This camp is open to children aged 6 to 18 years who are interested in trying wheelchair sports. Prior experience is not necessary.
Participants should wear comfortable sportswear and bring a water bottle and any personal items they may need.
