Step into a world of colourful pet portraits and playful storytelling inspired by Pet Palace. This workshop invites children to explore their creativity through drawing, collage, and mixed-media techniques, all inspired by beloved pets and imaginative creature companions. It’s a welcoming space designed especially for children with disability and their families to enjoy art together.
The session is relaxed and sensory-friendly, ensuring a comfortable environment for all participants. Children will have the chance to express themselves freely while bonding with their family members in a supportive setting.
Expect a hands-on experience where imagination and self-expression take centre stage, guided by the artists of Little Orange Studio who created the Pet Palace installation.
This workshop runs on Monday, 13 July 2026, with three sessions at 10:30, 12:00, and 14:00, each lasting approximately one hour. It is free to attend but requires prior booking to secure a spot.
The workshop is suitable for children with disability and their families, providing an inclusive environment tailored to their needs. All materials for drawing, collage, and mixed media will be provided.
Participants will be encouraged to create their own animal-inspired artworks, drawing from everyday life, memory, and imagination.
The workshop takes place at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, located on Art Gallery Road in The Domain, Sydney NSW 2000. Specifically, it is held in the Naala Nura building on the ground level, Function Room.
The venue is fully accessible and designed to accommodate families and children with disabilities comfortably. Public transport options and parking are available nearby.
