If your child loves drawing, painting, and creating, this fun series of children’s art classes is perfect for nurturing their artistic talents. Each week, under the guidance of an experienced art educator, participants will explore a different artwork from the Gallery’s collection, experimenting with various art materials and techniques. By the end of each session, every child will have a unique artwork to take home, making this a rewarding and hands-on experience.
The classes are fully supervised, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for your child to express their creativity. All materials are provided, so there’s no need to bring anything along except enthusiasm and imagination.

The Kids Club runs over five Sundays from 2 August to 20 September 2026, with sessions starting at 10:30 and finishing at 12:00. Each workshop focuses on a unique theme, including landscape drawing, hero character creation inspired by mythology, animal mosaics using collage techniques, spring-themed still life with watercolour, and 3-D sculpture building inspired by Australian artists.
Workshops are held in different rooms within the Gallery’s Naala Nura and Naala Badu buildings, providing varied and inspiring settings for creativity. The program is designed for children aged 9 to 12, making it ideal for school-aged kids looking to develop their artistic skills.
The workshops take place at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, located on Art Gallery Road in The Domain, Sydney. Sessions are held in the Naala Nura building on the ground level (Function room) and the Naala Badu building on lower level 2 (Meers Hall).
Please note that from 22 June to October 2026, the lift connecting the Naala Nura building Ground Floor with Lower Level 3 will be temporarily out of service. Lower Level 3 remains accessible via escalator. For visitors with accessibility needs, the Gallery’s Visitor Experience team is available to assist.
Kids Club is exclusively for Art Gallery members, so membership is required to participate. Membership offers additional benefits and supports the Gallery’s programs.
