Experience a heartwarming school holiday activity where families cook together for a great cause. Led by expert OzHarvest chefs, children and adults collaborate in the kitchen to transform rescued food into delicious meals for those in need.
This hands-on session offers an opportunity to learn simple cooking techniques and knife safety, while discovering how OzHarvest fights food waste. Families work as a team to prepare nourishing meals that make a real difference in the community.
Enjoy practical tips on reducing food waste at home and share a meal together at the end of the session, making this more than just a cooking class – it’s a lesson in compassion, sustainability, and community action.
This cooking class is designed for children aged 8 and above, who must be over 120cm tall and accompanied by an adult at all times. No prior cooking experience is necessary, making it perfect for all skill levels.
The session runs twice on Tuesday 14 April 2026, from 09:00 to 11:30 and again from 13:00 to 15:30. The adult ticket price includes entry for up to two children.
Participants will:
- Learn knife safety and cooking basics
- Understand food rescue and waste reduction
- Work collaboratively to prepare meals
- Enjoy a shared meal at the end
