What to Expect
Step into a world where your child's big, weird, and brilliant ideas are celebrated and expanded. This engaging workshop invites children aged 8 to 12 to dream, make, and imagine alongside artist and comedian Matt Kelly. Through drawing, games, and storytelling, kids will explore their creativity in a supportive and fun environment.
Your child will not only share their ideas but also see them developed and taken seriously, stepping into roles as thinkers, makers, and story-builders. This unique experience offers a chance to influence new artistic projects at the Sydney Opera House and be part of a video for an international kids festival.
Whether your child is a budding programmer, producer, or artist, this workshop encourages them to imagine what they would create if they were in charge.
Activity Details
This drop-off workshop runs for approximately 120 minutes and is suitable for children aged 8 to 12. It will be held twice on Sunday, 13 September 2026, at 10:30 and 14:00. Parents are not required to stay but must complete supervision and photo consent forms.
The session will be filmed and photographed, providing a unique opportunity for kids to contribute to a creative video project. The workshop is led by Matt Kelly, known for his work with The Listies, ensuring a lively and entertaining experience.
Tickets cost $15 per child, with no booking fees applied. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
Location and Access
The workshop takes place at the Centre for Creativity within the Sydney Opera House, located at Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. The Centre is at the end of the Western Foyers, next to the Drama Theatre, best accessed through the Western Foyers entry.
The Opera House is easily reachable by car, train, ferry, light rail, bus, bike, or on foot, with a 7-10 minute walk from Circular Quay. All foyers are accessible with lifts available for convenience.

Important Information
This is a drop-off session; parents do not need to stay during the workshop but must complete supervision consent and photo/recording consent forms. The workshop will be filmed and photographed.
The event duration is approximate and may be subject to change. The Sydney Opera House is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and has a Child Safety Policy in place.
Children must be aged 8 to 12 to participate. Please ensure timely drop-off and pick-up.

Tickets are priced at $15 per child with no additional booking fees. The only authorised ticket agency is Sydney Opera House.
Pre-sale for Sydney Opera House Insiders begins 7 July 2026 at 09:00, followed by a general public sale on 9 July 2026 at 09:00. Early booking is recommended due to limited availability.
