What to Expect
Get ready for an engaging and lively after-school session designed to get families moving and exploring healthy eating together. This program is suitable for children aged 5 and above and requires adult supervision to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Activity Details
Each weekly session runs for 1.5 hours, starting at 3:00 pm and finishing at 4:30 pm every Thursday. The program runs from 12 February 2026 through to 2 April 2026, giving families the chance to book for the whole term and maximize the benefits.
Activities include interactive movement games that get everyone active and engaged, followed by hands-on cooking demonstrations focusing on simple, nutritious snacks. These sessions are designed to be educational and fun, helping children learn about healthy food choices in a practical way.
The program is free of charge but requires booking in advance via Eventbrite to secure a spot.
Location and Access
The sessions take place at Corrimal Library, located at 15 Short Street. The library is a welcoming community space with easy access and facilities suitable for families.
Public transport options and parking are available nearby, making it convenient for families to attend after school. The library is committed to inclusivity and accessibility for all visitors.
Participants are encouraged to bring a library card, which is free and easy to obtain online if you don’t already have one.
Important Information
All children must be accompanied by an adult to ensure safety and support during activities. The program is designed for children aged 5 years and older.
Bookings are essential due to limited spaces, so early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment. The program is run in partnership with the Health Promotions Service, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
