Lightscape runs from 12 June to 2 August 2026, operating Wednesday to Sunday, plus every day during the winter school holidays from 27 June to 12 July and on Tuesday 28 July. Tickets are timed in 15-minute increments, with last entry 10 minutes after the final timeslot. Prices vary by date and range from $28 to $60 for children and adults, with flexible ticket options available.
The event is held after dark, offering a spectacular transformation of the Gardens with large-scale light artworks and immersive experiences. It is suitable for all ages and designed to captivate both children and adults alike.
The entrance to Lightscape is via Observatory Gate near the Visitor Centre on Birdwood Avenue, opposite the Shrine of Remembrance. The Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne is easily accessible and now closer than ever with the new ANZAC Station nearby.
