Little Art Makers is a delightful weekly workshop designed to ignite creativity in young children aged 3 to 5. Each session begins with an enchanting storytime that sparks imagination and sets the tone for artistic exploration. Children then engage with various artworks, learning to appreciate art in a fun and interactive way.
The highlight of the workshop is the hands-on art making, where kids get to use a variety of materials to create their own masterpieces under the guidance of experienced instructors. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to explore textures, colours, and forms while having fun.
This program runs every Wednesday during school terms with two sessions available: 9:30am to 10:30am and 11:00am to 12:00pm. Each session costs $10 per child, making it an affordable and enriching activity for your little ones.
The workshops focus on developing fine motor skills, boosting confidence, and encouraging self-expression through art. Additionally, children benefit from sensory stimulation and social interaction, making it a holistic creative experience.
The workshops take place at Hazelhurst Arts Centre, located at 782 Kingsway, Gymea NSW. The centre is accessible and welcoming, with ample parking and public transport options nearby. Hazelhurst is open Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 9:30pm and Friday to Sunday from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
Nearby amenities include Hazel Kitchen & Bar, perfect for a snack or coffee before or after the session. The venue is family-friendly and provides a safe environment for children to explore their creativity.
Please note that Hazelhurst will be closed from Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April, with regular hours resuming Tuesday 7 April. Spaces for Little Art Makers are limited, so early booking is recommended to secure your child's spot.
Parents are encouraged to dress their children in clothes suitable for messy activities. The workshop is designed to be inclusive and supportive, fostering a positive environment for all participants.
Bookings can be made online through the Hazelhurst website or by contacting the centre directly. The cost is $10 per child per session, payable at the time of booking.
