Experience the rewarding work of bush regeneration alongside Randwick City Council’s Bushcare officer. This monthly volunteer event focuses on preserving the endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub and maintaining the natural beauty of Malabar’s foreshore.
You will engage in hands-on activities such as weed removal and planting local indigenous species that thrive in coastal conditions. It's a great way to connect with nature and contribute to the environment.
This activity is perfect for families looking to spend meaningful time outdoors and teach children about environmental stewardship.
The group meets every month on the first Tuesday from 09:00 to 12:00, starting on April 7, 2026, and continuing until December 1, 2026. Volunteers focus on removing invasive weeds like Salpichroa and Acetosa and planting native flora adapted to withstand coastal winds.
You will be working on the southern section of Long Bay, opposite 9 Bay Parade, Malabar. The site is part of an important ecological community that requires ongoing care and attention.
Bookings are essential and can be made by calling the Council's Bushcare Officer or emailing the dedicated bushcare contact.
