What to Expect
Immerse yourself in nature and make a positive impact by joining the Malabar Foreshore Bushcare group. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to engage with the environment and learn about local bushland conservation.
You will work alongside the Council's Bushcare officer to help regenerate the bushland, focusing on removing invasive weeds and planting native species that thrive in coastal conditions.

Activity Details
The group meets monthly on the first Tuesday from 09:00 to 12:00, providing a regular and manageable commitment for busy families.
Tasks include targeting weeds such as Salpichroa and Acetosa, as well as planting local indigenous plants suited to the coastal environment.
The site is located on the southern section of Long Bay, an area known for the endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub ecological community.
Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in bush regeneration and learn about the unique flora of the area.
Location and Access
Meet on the grass area opposite 9 Bay Parade, Malabar, easily accessible by car or public transport.
The site is exposed to coastal winds, so appropriate clothing and sun protection are recommended.
Parking is available nearby, and the location offers a scenic outdoor setting perfect for a morning of volunteering.
