Step into the secret-city vibe of Sydney’s summer nights with this engaging Photo Walk. As the city transitions from the golden hour through the blue hour and into the dark, you’ll capture stunning images of Sydney’s iconic urban landscape.
This social outing is perfect for photographers eager to explore low-light and night photography using their smartphones. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, you’ll enjoy connecting with like-minded photography enthusiasts.
Bring your comfortable shoes and a sense of adventure as you discover hidden nooks, quiet tunnels, and shimmering buildings that come alive after hours.
The walk covers Sydney’s western CBD, starting at The Cenotaph in Martin Place near George Street and moving towards the vibrant Darling Quarter precinct. Your expert photo guide, Colin Seton, will share tips on capturing unique photos using long exposure apps and smartphone camera techniques.
You’ll learn how to shoot in low light, find eclectic photo locations, and use tripods or phone holders to enhance your shots. This workshop is designed to help you create captivating and creative images of Sydney’s ever-evolving cityscape.
The event runs on selected Mondays from December 2025 through April 2026, each session lasting from 18:00 to 21:00.
The walk begins at The Cenotaph in Martin Place, Sydney NSW 2000, a central and easily accessible location in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. Public transport options and parking are available nearby, making it convenient for families to attend.
The route takes you through well-lit city streets and pedestrian-friendly areas, suitable for walking with school-aged children who enjoy exploring urban environments.
Please plan your arrival to be on time at the starting point to fully benefit from the guided experience.
Participants should bring comfortable shoes, water, and a battery pack for their smartphone to ensure their devices last through the evening. A tripod, any size, and a phone holder for the tripod are recommended for long exposure photography.
This is a social and educational event, so be prepared to engage with others and share your passion for photography. The guide, Colin Seton, is highly experienced in smartphone photography and will provide structured teaching throughout the walk.
The event is suitable for parents and children who have an interest in photography and want to learn new skills in a fun, supportive environment.
General admission for the Night Walk – Summer Socials is $60.00 per person. Tickets must be booked in advance to secure your place.
